Are sex toys safe to use during pregnancy? – You are the best judge

Many pregnant women continue to have a sex life after they have become pregnant; this is perfectly natural and healthy. Most pregnant women experience fluctuations in sexual desire as the pregnancy advances. Sometimes they may go off sex completely or may have an increased libido. Some women enjoy sex more than ever during pregnancy, and don’t hesitate to use sex toys as well.

Before making the decision to have any type of sexual contact during pregnancy, which also includes using sex toys, the best thing that you can do is talk to your doctor about it. Don't automatically assume that it is safe for you to have sexual contact, but if your doctor says you are able to, you should keep in mind that it will also be okay for you to use sex toys during pregnancy.

However, one of the most important things that you need to take into consideration is how much pressure you will be using when you decide to have fun with a sex toy. It is important to keep in mind that a sex toy will typically provide much more pressure than the penis. Therefore, should you make the decision to go ahead and use a sex toy during your pregnancy, you can do so by applying minimal pressure; you must avoid being forceful with a sex toy while you are pregnant.

When using adult sex toys during pregnancy, the most important thing that you should watch out for is pain or discomfort. If you notice any pain or discomfort, however mild, you must discontinue the use of sex toys for that moment during your pregnancy. The next thing that you can consider doing is making your doctor aware of the fact that you have experienced pain or discomfort and why. Though it is unlikely to happen, your doctor may want to examine you to make sure that no damage has been done to the foetus by your sex toy.

Overall, it can be safely said that sex toys can be used during pregnancy but with certain safety restrictions. The only condition where sex toys must be avoided is when you are unable to have sexual intercourse or have an orgasm during your pregnancy. But with complete caution, there is no reason why you should not be able to use your sex toys. Use your best judgment and if using a sex toy during pregnancy doesn’t feel right to you, you don’t have to use it.
