Lubricants: Smoothening sex for you

Hundreds of different lubricants are available on the market. What you might find the best might not be the same for someone else. Choosing lubricants is a matter of personal choice. As everyone seems to have different opinions about the same type of lubricant, it is safe to say that none are better or worse. Here's a brief idea about the three leading types of lubricants that will help you decide which will suit your needs the best.

Water-based lubes

Water-based lube is touted to be the best lubricant because many people find it to be non-irritating and it does not cause latex to deteriorate. However, this is not true because some women who are prone to yeast infections, find that water-based lubes containing glycerine or sugar can aggravate their infections. The major drawback of water-based lubes is that they dry more quickly than other forms of lubricants; however, this can be easily remedied by adding a bit more lube, water, or saliva as this can reactivate its slippery properties.

Silicone lubes

The latest developments in lubricants are silicone lubes. These lubricants are safe, compatible with condoms and latex toys and are longer lasting than water-based lubes. The major drawback of silicone lubes is that they can't be washed off easily and if they are not washed off properly or if they are left for too long, they cause irritation. Also they can't be used with silicone toys, so all the silicone toy users might find this disappointing.

Flavoured lubes

Flavoured lubes are just water-based. Their main feature is that they are flavoured and so stimulate your other senses. These lubricants are smooth and slick, but not sticky and messy like silicone and oil-based lubes. As they are water-soluble and your skin absorbs them easily, they are easy to wash off as all you need is warm water and soap to get rid of the smell and stickiness. The most popular flavours are watermelon, wild cherry, strawberry and orange.

People who think that lubes are not meant for them should start off with flavoured lubes as they will quickly change their minds and will soon swear by lubricant after using this sex aid!
